Instagram Profile Comparison
Compare up to 10 Instagram accounts side by side
What Is the Instagram Profile Comparison?
Enter two to ten Instagram accounts and the Instagram Profile Comparison lines them up: followers, engagement rate, average likes and comments, average reel plays, how often each posts and how much of each feed is reels. The charts show who leads on each measure, and the table puts every figure side by side with the account type, business category and any email written in the bio.
Key Features
Followers Against Engagement
Follower counts tell you reach; engagement tells you whether anyone’s listening. Engagement here is the average likes and comments on the 12 latest posts, divided by followers. A small account at 5% can be worth more to a brand than a big one at 0.5%, which is why the two charts sit next to each other.
Pace and Format
Posts per week comes from the dates of the latest posts, and the reels share from their types. If the most engaged account posts half as often as the rest, quality is beating volume. If it posts mostly reels, that’s the format its audience responds to.
What It Can’t See
Private accounts show their follower counts but not their posts, so their averages stay blank. Likes an owner has hidden are skipped rather than counted as zero. Story views, reach and saves are private to each account, so no outside tool can compare them.
Common Use Cases
- Benchmarking your account against competitors
- Shortlisting influencers for a campaign
- Comparing brand accounts across markets
- Checking whether a big account still engages its followers
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Instagram Profile Comparison free?
Yes. It's free with a ProxyHorizon account, and every account gets 25 runs a day shared across all our data tools. You can read about the tool without signing in, but running it needs an account because each run fetches live data.
How is engagement rate calculated?
Average likes plus comments across the 12 latest posts, divided by followers. It's the usual public formula, so the figures compare fairly across accounts of any size.
Why is an account missing from the results?
It couldn't be read: the handle may be misspelled, or the account renamed or removed. The result lists any account it couldn't read.
Does it work with private accounts?
Partly. Their follower and post counts show, but their posts don't, so their averages stay blank.
Do you store my results?
No. We log which tool you ran, what you entered and when, so we can apply the daily limit. Results aren't saved, so export them as CSV or JSON if you want to keep them.
