Instagram Profile Analyzer
Followers, engagement rate and posts
What Is the Instagram Profile Analyzer?
The Instagram Profile Analyzer reads any public Instagram profile and works out the numbers that matter: engagement rate, average likes and comments, and how often the account posts. You also get follower, following and post counts, the bio and link, the business category, any email in the bio, and a table of the latest posts.
Key Features
How Engagement Rate Is Calculated
We average the likes and comments on the account's latest posts and divide by its follower count. Big accounts naturally score lower, and rates under one percent are common above a million followers, while small, active accounts often reach several percent. Compare an account with others of a similar size rather than against a fixed number.
Vetting Influencers Before You Pay
Follower counts are easy to inflate. Engagement is much harder to fake. A big account with tiny engagement, or comments that don't match the content, is a red flag. Check posting frequency too: an account that hasn't posted in months won't deliver much reach, however many followers it has.
Common Use Cases
- Vetting influencers before a sponsorship
- Benchmarking your account against competitors
- Finding a creator's contact email
- Tracking a competitor's posting rhythm
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Instagram Profile Analyzer free?
Yes. It's free with a ProxyHorizon account, and every account gets 25 runs a day shared across all our data tools. You can read about the tool without signing in, but running it needs an account because each run fetches live data.
Does it work on private accounts?
No. Private accounts hide their posts, so there's nothing to analyze.
How many posts does it look at?
The latest 12, which is what Instagram shows on the first load of a profile. Pinned posts are included.
Is this the engagement rate Instagram shows creators?
No. Instagram's own insights use reach, saves and shares, which only the account owner can see. This rate uses public likes and comments, so you can compare any accounts fairly.
Do you store my results?
No. We log which tool you ran, what you entered and when, so we can apply the daily limit. Results aren't saved, so export them as CSV or JSON if you want to keep them.
