Google Redirect Resolver
Where a Google /url or /goto link really goes
What Is the Google Redirect Resolver?
Google wraps the links it hands out in AI Mode, AI Overviews and Google News, so the address you copy starts with google.com rather than the site behind it. Paste one here to see its real destination, every redirect that follows it, the final status, and a clean copy of the address without the tracking parameters.
Key Features
Two Kinds of Google Link
A /url link carries its destination in the link itself, percent-encoded, so it is decoded on the spot. A /goto link carries an opaque token that only Google can exchange, so that one is resolved by asking Google. Either way you get the real address.
After the Destination
The address Google points to often redirects again: to a trailing-slash version, to www, through an affiliate network. The resolver follows that chain with a status on every step, so you know where a cited link finally lands and whether it still works.
Common Use Cases
- Finding which page an AI Overview citation actually points to
- Checking where Google News links send readers
- Cleaning tracking parameters out of shared links
- Confirming a cited page still loads
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Google Redirect Resolver free?
Yes. It's free with a ProxyHorizon account, and every account gets 25 runs a day shared across all our data tools. You can read about the tool without signing in, but running it needs an account because each run fetches live data.
Which links does it accept?
Links on a Google domain whose path is /url or /goto. Ordinary website addresses have nothing to resolve.
Why did my /goto link fail?
These tokens are short-lived. A link copied hours or days ago may have expired, and Google returns nothing for it.
What counts as a tracking parameter?
utm_ tags, click IDs like gclid, fbclid and msclkid, and Google’s own markers such as ved, usg and srsltid. They are listed separately and removed from the clean link.
