Duplicate Title Finder
Find pages that share a title tag
What Is the Duplicate Title Finder?
When two pages share a title, search engines have to guess which one should rank, and they often pick the wrong one or neither. The Duplicate Title Finder crawls your site and groups pages by title clash, both exact copies and near copies that differ by a word or two, so you can see whether you have one template to fix or a handful of one-off mistakes.
Key Features
Exact and Near Duplicates Need Different Fixes
An exact duplicate usually means two URLs serve the same page, or a template prints a fixed title. A near duplicate, where titles differ by a page number or a city name, means the template has a variable but not enough of one. Each group is labelled, so you know which fix applies before you open a single page.
Which Page Keeps the Title
When pages clash, give the title to the page with the most substance and the most internal links, and rewrite the others around what makes them different. If two pages really are the same, pick one and redirect the other. The word counts in the table make that call quicker.
Common Use Cases
- Finding template titles on category and product pages
- Checking that paginated or filtered pages have distinct titles
- Spotting blog posts that compete for the same search
- Cleaning up after a content import or migration
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Duplicate Title Finder free?
Yes. It's free with a ProxyHorizon account, and every account gets 25 runs a day shared across all our data tools. You can read about the tool without signing in, but running it needs an account because each run fetches live data.
What counts as near-identical?
Two titles whose words overlap by at least 80%, compared as sets after lowercasing and removing punctuation. "Blue Widgets | Page 2 | Acme" and "Blue Widgets | Page 3 | Acme" match; "Best Coffee Grinders" and "Best Coffee Makers" don't.
Why isn't a duplicate I know about shown?
Both pages have to be in the crawl to be compared. If one of them sits past the page limit you chose, run a bigger crawl.
How many pages does it crawl?
25, 50, 100 or 250, your choice. It starts at the URL you enter and follows internal links outward, so the pages closest to the start are read first. On a site bigger than your limit, the report says how many pages it read and how many the site has at least, and describes those pages rather than the whole site. A run has about two and a half minutes to crawl; on a slow site it stops where it got to and says so.
Do you keep the crawl?
For 24 hours. The crawl behind a report is stored for a day so the other sitewide tools can reuse it for the same site and page limit, instantly and without crawling again. It only holds public pages, so anyone checking the same site that day gets the same crawl. Choose "Crawl again now" whenever you want fresh data. We also log which tool you ran and when, to apply the daily limit.
