About the eBook

Everything you need to choose and run proxies well

Most proxy guides either sell you a product or stop at a definition. The Ultimate Proxy Handbook does neither. It shows you how proxies actually work, how to pick the right type for each target, what a plan really costs per successful request, and how to keep your traffic from getting blocked.

It's built from the questions developers and data teams ask most and from provider data in the ProxyHorizon directory. Every chapter ends with key takeaways, and the appendix collects the checklists and quick-reference pages you'll come back to when something breaks.

A proxy doesn't make you invisible. It changes who the website thinks you are.

By the end, you'll be able to

  • Explain exactly what a proxy changes, and what it leaves exposed
  • Pick the right proxy type for a target before you spend a dollar
  • Set up rotation, sticky sessions and geo-targeting correctly
  • Work out the true cost per successful request of any plan
  • Wire proxies into cURL, Python, Node.js, Playwright and antidetect browsers
  • Diagnose blocks quickly and fix the cause, not the symptom

FAQ

Questions, answered

Is the handbook really free?

Yes. There's no sign-up and no email gate: download the PDF and start reading. You're welcome to share it with your team, unchanged and with credit.

Who is it for?

Anyone who buys or runs proxies: developers building scrapers, data and growth teams collecting public data, SEO and e-commerce teams tracking rankings and prices, and builders giving AI agents web access. It starts from the fundamentals, so it works for beginners too.

Is it vendor-neutral?

Yes. ProxyHorizon is independent. The provider snapshot lists nine networks in alphabetical order using figures from the ProxyHorizon directory, and the handbook contains no affiliate links.

What format is it in?

A 63-page PDF of about 6.3 MB, with clickable links and a bookmark for every chapter and section. It's designed for reading on screen and prints cleanly on US Letter or A4.

Do the code examples work with any provider?

Yes. They use standard proxy URLs and current library APIs. Only the username flags for targeting and sticky sessions differ between providers, and the handbook shows exactly where yours go.

How current is it?

This is the 2026 Edition, with provider figures taken from the ProxyHorizon directory in October 2026. Prices change often, so check the directory for live numbers.
